“Life
is not just being alive, but being well.”
Founded in
1986, the Mississauga Italian Canadian Benevolent Association
(MICBA) has enjoyed being a leader among housing/social service
and Long Term Care Facilities. Its directive, to be an exemplary
provider of Long Term Health Care facilities in the Mississauga/Region
of Peel corridor. Its mandate, to provide a better quality of
life to the citizens of the City of Mississauga and surrounding
areas, through the development and implementation of support services
and programs designed to assist individuals and their families
in their everyday lives.
Since its inception,
a symbiotic relationship between MICBA and the City of Mississauga
has developed. To date MICBA’s activities within our community
have become very apparent; it has built non-profit housing that
cares for 133 families, a 60 unit seniors residence for the elderly,
a licensed daycare centre that provides daily programs to 55 full
time children and our innovative 160 bed Long Term Care facility,
Villa Forum. We are also proud to announce our latest addition to our project a Before and After Schoolage Program, licensed for 30 full time children.
MICBA diligently undertook
the enormous challenge of providing the community with a showplace
of which every one of our citizens can be proud. Working together
in partnership with government and the private sector, community
volunteers have spearheaded the ambitious
campaign to build facilities and implement programs designed to
make life more enjoyable for seniors, young families and children.
We are proud of our
achievements and on behalf of the Board of Directors, and as Chairman
of MICBA, I welcome you to our organization.
